keywords

Did you know that almost half of all books sold on Amazon are self-published? That’s a lot of books, and it means that there is a lot of competition out there. So, how can you make sure that your book stands out from the crowd? By using the right keywords! In this blog post, we will discuss why keywords are important for SEO and how to choose the right ones for your books.

Why are keywords so important?

When it comes to SEO, keywords are important for a number of reasons. First, they help your book appear in search results when potential readers are looking for books like yours. Second, they can help you rank higher in those search results, which means that more people are likely to see and purchase your book. And finally, keywords can give you valuable insights into what potential buyers are actually looking for.

What should you keep in mind when choosing keywords?

There are a few things to keep in mind when choosing keywords for your book. First, consider your audience. What terms will they be searching for? Try to use keyword phrases that are specific enough that they will bring up your book in the search results, but not so specific that there aren’t many people searching for them. Second, think about how popular the keywords are. The more popular the keywords, the more competition you’ll have for those terms. Finally, consider your book’s title and subtitle. These are important places where you can use keywords to help potential readers find your book.

What do customers type into the search bar?

One of the best ways to come up with keywords is to think about what potential buyers might type into the Amazon search bar when they’re looking for a book like yours. If you can’t think of any good keywords, try using a tool like Google AdWords Keyword Planner to get some ideas. Once you’ve come up with a few good keywords, add them to your book’s title and description in strategic places. Remember, don’t stuff your keywords! A few well-placed keywords will do the trick. Amazon will index the keywords in your title and subtitle, but not in the description. However, the description will be indexed by Google, so it’s important to use the right keywords there too.

By using the right keywords, you can help your book stand out from the crowd and attract more readers.

1 Comment on The Importance Of Keywords For Your Self-Published Books

  1. When i published my books with Lulu, I always made sure to include my most important keyword in my book’s title. They do give me another section where I can enter the meta data about the book, but I make sure to enter the keyword in the title to make it even easier for people to find my book.
